Alaska Special Olympics Summer Games: The Party is On

Special Olympics Alaska summer games got off to an exuberant start as usual. Special Olympians around the state of Alaska, from Juneau to Fairbanks, to the Central Peninsula and Anchorage, streamed in to the auditorium at East high school tonight to party before the challenge. Special Olympics in Alaska is also celebrating its 50th year of providing Olympic opportunities to special people of this state. This evening’s special guest speaker was Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy, who said he was “impressed” by the level of commitment these athletes show.
